Is your body calling out to you with symptoms saying, "please pay attention to me, I am important, if you don't look after me I will break"?
During this Covid season we have all had the opportunity to get frustrated, short-tempered, and stressed out. Many are experiencing financial stress, marital stress and the stress of raising children. Many people are living in a perpetual state of over-load, literally on the verge of collapse. They just keep stretching themselves to the limit like a rubber band...and one day they will snap!
Our bodies were created by God to withstand a certain amount of stress, but when we push ourselves beyond our limitations, then we begin to experience problems.
There is good news: As Christians, although we may be in the world, according to John 17 we are not of the world. We don't have to operate or react like the world. Jesus said in John 14:27 that we should stop allowing ourselves to be agitated, disturbed and upset.
In my life, I have noticed that the right attitude and approach to a situation can completely turn a situation around and God is able to work supernaturally to help me. It is a choice.
Jesus didn't promise that we would never have to deal with stressful situations. In John 16:33, He said, ...In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer (take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted)! For I have overcome the world. (I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you).
Even though we will be faced with trying and stressful situations that will not always be easy to handle, He assures us that nothing can defeat us if we handle things the right way - His way!
To enjoy a peaceful, stress-free life you & I will need to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and obey His promptings. He will never lead you into stress, because He is the Prince of Peace.
A prompting is a "knowing" down inside of you that lets you know what you should do. The prophet Elijah referred to it as "a still, small voice." Trust that voice when it says, "Let that worry go, give me those cares & anxieties, let that fear go & take MY PEACE.
Below are wise words of instruction from God's Word to practice making peace a part of your day.
1) BE STILL! Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God.
2) PREPARE YOUR HEART to receive from Him, to hear his voice.
3) ACKNOWLEDGE HIM in everything you do.
Philippians 4:7 and the peace of God, which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Breathe on me breath of God, fill me with life anew!
