Let's put our fighting gloves down. God is fighting for us, He is on our side, He has overcome yes, He has overcome! In Deuteronomy 1:30 - The Lord your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you....
Why do we as Christians spend so much of our time and energy fighting to get something from God by repeating the same prayers over and over, as if He didn't hear us the first time we prayed? Think about it, if your son or daughter asked you for something, as a parent, would you want them repeating it over and over and over again? After a while you would be saying, "I HEARD YOU THE FIRST TIME, DON'T ASK ME AGAIN!" I love the scriptures that say, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways, (James 1:5). You and I don't need to struggle or strain to get anything from God. Instead, we need to learn how to cooperate with Him and rest in His promises to us.
There are two types of Prayers God will never answer:
He will never answer a prayer to do something that He’s already done.
He will never answer a prayer about a situation that He’s already given us instructions on how to handle.
My soul doesn't always find it easy to trust and rest in God. Sometimes I need to have a little talk with myself. I find that no matter what challenging circumstances I am going through IF I put my trust in the Lord and don't lean on my own understanding, I can enter into a place of rest and peace. There is nothing like it!
Trust is not confused because it has no need to lean to its own understanding. Trust doesn't indulge in carnal reasoning. It lets God be God! Proverbs 3:5 reminds us, Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
Psalm 37:7 says, Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him; fret not yourself .... Matthew 11:28 - "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
God is fighting for us, He is on our side, He has overcome YES, He has overcome!
I will not be shaken, I will not be moved, JESUS you are here!
