There has never been a more important time in history for the body of Christ to rise up and take a stand for what is right by letting our voice be heard. We know the Bible says that Satan roams around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, but there is a way out, and Christians hold the key. I believe that through the power of the Holy Spirit and some practical instruction, we can defeat the onslaught of the enemy and stand for righteousness right where we live.
Every problem we face in our society is first and foremost the result of a failure to pray. James 4:2 says...We do not have because we do not ask, and James 5:16 says...The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available, (dynamic in its working). Prayer is the foundation; prayer brings His power on the scene. One thing I know for sure, grumbling, murmuring, and complaining about things is absolutely useless. Instead of saying things like, "Well, I can't believe they are allowing that junk on TV," we need to redirect that energy to prayer. Another way of putting it is putting legs to our prayers. Along with prayer we may feel prompted to put action to what we are praying about, writing a letter, a phone call, or to confront immorality face to face. Here is an example: My husband and I went to a PG movie and afterwards we asked to speak with the manager to express our concern with the movie trailers shown before the movie began. We wanted him to know that even though the movie we saw was okay, we were very disappointed in these trailers shown, as they would qualify under an R rating, with vulgar language, nude scenes, sexual expressions etc., and by letting the manager know that the trailers were offensive, we drew a line of separation between right and wrong. Whether or not the manager removed certain scenes or not, was not our responsibility. We were only responsible to speak the truth in love. It's all about doing something and not just using our words to complain, because what we complain about will remain. This is something I have to remind myself daily of. Instead of remaining silent, hoping that someone else will do something, I believe you and I need to voice our disapproval in a kind way.
