BE STILL!

When God speaks, our mind will be our biggest enemy! It is time for us to stay out of our own way.

What we picture in our mind, our mind will work to accomplish. When we change our picture we automatically change our outcome. Proverbs 23:7 - As a man thinks, so is he.

In silence more than anywhere else we are given access to our possibilities.

The challenge we hear so often today, "Do more! Be more! Give more! Go for the prize!" Sometimes we need that challenge to move us out of complacency to encourage us to find and fulfill our calling, however there is another voice clearly speaking to us to be still and know that He is God - Psalm 46:10.

The ultimate call is not that we are committed to a task,

but to a person.

Quietness is essential to listening. If we are too busy to sit in silence in His presence, if we are preoccupied with thoughts or concerns about the day, if we have filled our minds all day long with aimless chatter, we are going to have difficulty listening to the still small voice of God.

All of us are in a process, learning and growing. There is a time to roll up our sleeves, but that time must be matched with a time to be still, to listen.

Have you ever been in a position where you were giving someone instructions and you knew they weren't listening, OR they listened to the first sentence and assumed they knew what you were talking about? The end result was disastrous because they didn't listen to their full instructions. This is the way it is when the spirit of God is desiring to give us instructions for our life and we are too busy and distracted to listen to His full instructions, leaving many of us wondering why this or that didn't turn out the way we thought it should.

Proverbs 1:33 says, "But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, and will be secure without fear of evil."

BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD!
