Let's face it, we all want to live out our life blessed, prosperous and happy. Is this even possible? YES! Does it mean we won't have rough days or challenges in our life? NO!
One of the main things that stop the flow of God's blessing in our life, is the way we think and the words we speak, I call them "Blessing Stoppers"!
Our minds have so much capacity for good, to learn, create, think and grow, but if we allow damaging thoughts to enter our mind - negative, tormenting, guilty, unforgiving, shameful, and accusing, we set ourselves up for failure in every area of our life. Our mind is a powerful thing - what goes in, will come out!!! We can't just let our minds run wild. We will need to develop the fruit of self-control. Each of us have the power to control our thoughts, with the help of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says in Romans 12:2 "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will."
Change Your Mind: The next time you're wrestling in your mind, stop and find something specific that you can thank God for. Tell Him how grateful you are for His goodness and all the ways He's blessed your life. Eventually, you will see your life begin to change, and things will get better.
I've learned that if I want to enjoy my life, then I have to do something about my mouth.
1 Peter 3:10 says, "Let him who wants to enjoy life and see good days keep his tongue free from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.... Our tongue is like a pen and our heart is like a tablet. When we say something over and over, it gets on the inside of us. Guard Your Mouth: Words have the power of dynamite; they can destroy people. Even truthful words can cause damage, when spoken at the wrong time. Yet words can also save a friend from going in the wrong direction. Proverbs 18:21 says, "The tongue has the power of life and death."
Our mouths are powerful tools, either in the hands of God or in the enemy's hands.
We choose whether we are going to speak positive, uplifting, encouraging things into existence in our lives or produce negative, depressing and discouraging things. Changing our habit of negative thinking will not change because we want it to. We will need to change our confession by renewing our mind in the Word of God.
Colossians 3:2 says, Set your minds and keep them set... Let's decide today that we are going to be blessed and not allow anything to stand in our way!
