If we as Christians try to educate our minds first and then let our minds educate our spirits, we will find out that this is not the way God works. God works through our spirit. When our spirit is brought into right relationship with God, and fed properly on the Word of God, then our spirit will educate our mind and our mind will bring our body into subjection to the will of God. If we would feed our spirit like we feed our bodies, we would have ears to hear what the spirit is saying to each of us. Continually, the bible says,
"Have ears to hear, what the Spirit is saying"...
GO A LITTLE DEEPER
John 6:63 The Bible says: "My words are spirit and they are life. What did He mean? What was He saying? He was saying, if we will accept His Word and believe His Word and digest His Word, it will create spiritual life inside us. Jesus words are not intellectual, they are not philosophical, but His words are Spirit and they are life.
We can become victims of our circumstances, if we haven't discovered that the words of God are spirit and they are life.
At times we dabble away with the Word of God, like a child plays with his vegetables, and most of the time they end up on the floor. Some of us read the bible and peck around it like a bird, then there are some that come like vultures, and gorge themselves on the Word of God. Whatever we give our attention to will grow. God has a detailed, remarkable plan for every person's life - a plan consistent with His character. But He never intended us to make our plans and then ask Him to bless them. His desire for us is that we would ask Him for His leading and direction for our life first. In the meantime, we should go ahead with what we know to do and be open to HIM changing our plans. He has a way of getting us to HIS DESTINATION to fulfill His calling in us as we trust Him. Jeremiah 10:23 says "I know, O Lord, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps". We don't have the faintest idea what is best for us, so what a relief that there is a Master Mind who does - a God with a heart full of love and with the ability to communicate with all of us who want to listen and obey.
Step into the water, wade out a little bit deeper, wet your feet in the water of his love.
